The Governing Body of the Society awards the renowned and deserving physiologists with a Napoleon Cybulski Honorary Medal.
Adolf Beck (1863-1942), polish neurophysiologist and pioneer in electroencephalography (discovered specific desynchronization of the brain areas in response to peripheral nerve excitation) was the first physiologist awarded with the Medal and a title of a Honorary Member of the Society.
